Coaches Corner

YAPM ACC LEAGUE - November 4th, 2007 - "C" Team Superbowl

Cardinals 19  -  Blue Devils 6

Coach Jeff Krisiak, "What a game! What a season! Old Forge came out of the blocks hitting hard and they were aggressive. When two teams make it to the SuperBowl like the Blue Devils and Cardinals, you can expect to see a hard hitting, well played and exciting game. I believe everyone can agree it was all of that and then some.

This TEAM was made up of some pretty incredible kids. The coaching staff all agrees that our players came together at the right time and proved to be a Champion Team. To say our Coaches are proud this TEAM is definitely an understatement. All through the year our players never gave up on each other. They continued to support one another through the good and bad, like Champions do. It did not matter how much time was on the clock or how many points we were down, they played hard to the end.

We started out in July with 3 goals:

1). Learn to play the game of football as a TEAM! I believe they achieved that goal.

2). Give 100% in practice and in the game.  They played hard in practice which lead to excellent game day play. They dug down deep and came up big in many games.

3). Get to the SuperBowl and win. I think every team has that goal at the start of the season. It is not as easy as it sounds. Especially when you play the likes of Olyphant, Dunmore, Lakeland, Valley View and Wayne Highlands it really is not easy. It takes a bunch of  pretty incredible players to make it happen.. It also takes some pretty incredible coaches to pull it off. Coaches that show the type of patience and confidence to allow the TEAM to be formed and perform like CHAMPIONS.

I want to THANK all the parents, players ("A" Team, "B" Team, and Town League) and our wonderful  cheerleaders (who believed) for all the support you provided to this TEAM!

One last note: Who are we! ACC "C" Team SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!! "

YAPM ACC LEAGUE - October 28th, 2007 - National Conference Championship

C TEAM (Jr Pee Wee) :  YAPM 13 - Olyphant 6

Coach Jeff Krisiak,  "To say I am proud is an understatement! Our players again came up big when it mattered. With the Lions driving the ball down the field with time running out, we forced a turnover. We needed a big play and we got it. Now with the ball and only 38 seconds we had to drive almost the whole length of the field. We called a play looking  for 10-15 yards and came up with a touchdown! This team never quits. We talked all year long that it takes 4 quarters of  team football to have a chance to win. They also know that it takes 100% of effort and allot of hard work. Our guys now understand the goal and are now believing in each other that nothing can stop them. To be National League Champions was not easy. Our opponents played hard and continued to play aggressive football for all 4 quarters. As we move onto the Superbowl we still have work that needs to be done. We will prepare this week and will be ready to play on Sunday!!!!! Hats off to Olsbey with a long run for our 1st TD. Our offensive line did a great job blocking on the play and all game long. Our defensive guys were hitting hard all day long and came up big late. Jake Denninger came up with the fumble. One play later Daniel and Nate Stewart hooked up for the final score. Daniel came up with the extra point behind some great blocking again. We need to practice and work hard this week to be ready for the Superbowl."

B TEAM (Pee Wee):  YAPM  6 - Wayne Highlands 14

Coach Vince Orender, “What can I say! This was a fabulous year. These players have nothing to put their heads down about. They worked hard to get where they got.  This team is a special group. They accomplished much more then what was expected. With only 4 players returning from 2006 many football coaches would of predicted only 5 wins. This team earned respect as champions. If we would have the opportunity to spend 1 more year together as a team nobody, and I mean nobody, would stop us. However, that won't happen. We will have the opportunity to participate in The Mid-West Championships and I am confident this will ease the pain of our recent loss. Last year in 2006 we were in a similar position having the opportunity to play the Penn State junior football team and we beat their undefeated B team. This will be great if we go to Ohio and win a few games and earn some bragging rights.

I wish all of my senior players the best. They should all remember what we accomplished as well as what we did not. If they remember our shortcomings, they will make every effort not to let it happen the rest of their careers. We all need to gain a learning experience when we fall short.  It is not the end of the world. We all need to correct where we failed and prevent it from happening again. This team I am confident will learn from our experience and later on in life us it to accomplish what their goals will be, which does not only have to pertain to sports but life in general.

I wish the C team the best in their Superbowl. I am so proud of Jeff and his squad to overcome a few regular season losses and rally in the playoffs to beat 2 teams that put blemishes on their record. Jeff and the C team are really showing true characteristics of what champions are. I am confident they will go up to Dunmore and grab that trophy to bring back to the Poconos.  I am also excited to know these fine young players will come to me with the swagger of a champion. I will be honored to take these players and keep them in the champion fame of mind. Their goal will be to carry their winning attitudes to the next level and cherish their accomplishment for the rest of their playing days and the rest of their lives.”

YAPM ACC LEAGUE - October 21st, 2007 - National Conference Semi-Finals

I TEAM Scrimmage - YAPM vs Valley View Cougars.

Coach Joe Kopesky, “Well boys, it is all over, you all did an awesome job!!  I am so proud of this team.  Everybody learned the fundamentals of football and knew how to use them.  I want to thank all the assistant coaches, Dave Langdon, Mike Schrader and Jim DellaValle.  You were all an asset to this team and were the biggest help.  I am looking forward to your assistance next year.  I cannot wait to see all the players next season back on the field.  Here are the few things to remember, low man always wins, if everybody does their job and does it well, TOUCHDOWN.   Do well in school and be good and see you next season. YEAH BOY!”

C TEAM (Jr Pee Wee) :  YAPM 18 - Dunmore 12   (2 OT)

Coach Jeff Krisiak,  "WOW! What a game! Our guys are starting to believe in their ability. They are realizing that when they play together and to their ability anything can happen. To take the game to a double overtime and come away with victory is sign that they are coming together as a team. We talked about the offensive line and their importance.Hats off to Nate F, Dominic, Jason, Nick G, AJ, Mike Barta, Josh. They continue to grow as a unit and came up big yesterday. The defensive line also showed how tough they are: Jake, Dominic,Jason,Nick G, AJ, Olsbey, Brian, Savion, Ralph solid job. They especially came up big on OT. Our corners and linebacker played big. They were Nate F, Mike Bas, Justin, Nate S, Jarod, Anthony, Josh, Nick B, Chris, Brandon, Daniel and Mike G. Our special teams also did a great job. Nick kicked the ball perfectly. The coverage was great. Stepping up Juan,Pablo, Savion, Ralph, Nate S, Justin, Mike Bas, Daniel, Anthony and Mike G. Nate Stewart and Justin Elmore each had a rushing TD. Daniel Ildelfonso and Josh Stoner hooked up for the game winning TD pass.

We still have work to do as we prepare for the Lions. We had three things we set out to do this year. One, Learn to play the game as a team; Two, give 100% on every play, every second, every down, and every quarter; Three, is still a work in progress."

B TEAM (Pee Wee):  YAPM  45 - Olyphant  0

Coach Vince Orender, “The RED MACHINE has all bolts, screws, belts and all moving parts ready to go. We had a near perfect game on Sunday. DD St. Hill had 3 TDs Jessie Galeano 2 TDs and RJ Sarajian had a TD, 52 yds and the best game he played all season. Our Oline worked in perfect harmony. The Defense played as good as it gets and Mitchell Hauser did some great tackling.  We need to get ready for the Wayne Highland Stingers, they had a near perfect season until we upended them. They are one of the best teams in the league with a lot of weapons. We need to prepare for them and play the best game of our season Sunday. We need to be perfect with no mistakes.  I am so proud of our team and they deserve to go all the way. We will practice hard this week and leave nothing on the practice field.  We will bring everything we have to the game on Sunday.   I wish coach Jeff and his team the best come Sunday and go out there and earn the right to go the Superbowl. I also want to wish coach Roger the best and his team has a lot to be proud of with what they accomplished.  The Phase of the week is still "THERE ARE NO TOMORROWS" 123 GO RED MACHINE!”

A TEAM (Midget):  YAPM 26  - Dunmore 32 (2 OT)

Coach Roger Masotti, “A Team - The coaches share in our disappointment about the Sunday game loss, but our sadness is overshadowed by our pride in each and every player.  Our pride is how you have not only improved as players,  but also as individuals.  The bond you exhibited occurs from the coming together as a TEAM.  Your selflessness is for your teammates and your ability to settle each other down while encouraging each other with support.  No matter what adversity you faced as a team, you always worked together.  I would love to mention each of you for personal achievements, but that is reserved for Awards Night (it would also take the entire newsletter).  You are all truly a Championship Team beyond the context of the game. “

YAPM TOWN LEAGUE - Superbowl Saturday, October 13th, 2007

VARSITY SUPERBOWL:  White Knights 18  Red Raiders 12 (1OT).

Coach Steve DeLeo, “Ed Lopez showed great offensive displays of play with awesome athletic ability and terrific heart, and scored the winning TD in overtime.  Shawn Dezonie had a great defensive game recovering two fumbles.”

Coach Rich Burke, “Both Mike Vick and Will Remy did some great running once again and scored both TDs.  Solid blocking by Justen Martinez and Julian Acosta.”

JV CONSOLATION:   Blue Bruisers 18 Orange Hornets 12

Coach Jim Bratcher, “Steve Pierre-Louis ran our first TD and Petey Williams scored 2 TDs, with the last one in the 3rd quarter to give us the go-ahead score.”

Coach Joe Kopesky,” I am so proud of all my players.  We were the youngest team, but we always hung in there.  I think all of you are ready to move forward next year.  I hope everyone had fun, and learned at least one thing about football.  If so, then all the coaches did their job.  Good luck for next year, do good in school, and I look forward to seeing you next season.  Great 2 TD by Kean Wheatle, and great defense by Elijiah Johnson.  Yeah Boy!”
